Meet the Authors
Our mission is to educate young people about (1) the dangers of loud sound and (2) the simple behaviors necessary to protect hearing.

Adele Sandberg
A lifelong educator, advocate, and grandmother of ten. Inspired by her concern for children exposed to dangerously loud sound, she founded Ear Peace Save Your Hearing Foundation, an educational nonprofit whose mission is to teach children how to protect their hearing.

Sherilyn M. Adler, Ph.D.
A developmental psychologist and educator
who serves as the Executive Director of Ear Peace Foundation. Her son was born with profound hearing loss and uses cochlear implant technology to hear. She is passionate about ensuring that children don’t unknowingly put their hearing at risk.

Why We Wrote this Book
Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) is at epidemic levels among our youth with associated consequences for their learning, social relationships, emotional and physical health. Exposure to loud sound can cause permanent damage at any age, so it’s critical to instill good hearing habits early on. We believe that children should learn about hearing safety early in life, the same way we teach them other safety behaviors like wearing seatbelts, bike helmets and sunscreen.
We wrote this captivating adventure story to help adults and educators teach young children about their precious sense of hearing and provide them with the simple tools they need to enjoy music and healthy hearing for a lifetime.

Are EARPEACE & Ear Peace Foundation the same company?
Nope, we’re not the same company, but we’re definitely friends!
We actually found each other in a funny and ironic way through an Instagram account mix-up. What started as a simple case of mistaken identity quickly turned into a meaningful connection.
At EARPEACE, our mission is to help people protect their hearing without sacrificing sound quality, whether that’s at concerts, on the bike, or in everyday life. When we learned about Adele and Sherilyn’s work at Ear Peace Foundation, we instantly saw how aligned our goals were.
Ear Peace Foundation focuses on hearing health education and advocacy, empowering young kids and adults to understand and prevent hearing loss through education and outreach.
We jumped right in to support their efforts because we both care deeply about the same thing: helping people hear life clearly for years to come.
So while we’re two separate organizations, we share one mission: protecting the world’s ears, one sound at a time.
Are EARPEACE Earplugs intended for young children?
Our earplugs are designed for kids ages 11 and up. For younger children we recommend over-the-ear muffs for the best comfort and protection. They’re easier to fit, stay in place, and keep little ears safe in noisy environments.
