Those open air summer parties we have all been longing for are finally here in London! EarPeace headed back to Studio 338 for Unleash’s summer opening party, featuring Guy Gerber, Maayan Nidam, Miss Kittin and Konrad Black. We headed south of the river to Greenwich for a packed day and night event.
Promoter Unleash has been hosting parties with great line ups at unique locations around London for a while now. Every couple of weeks they bring acclaimed artists as well as up and coming DJs to the capital. If you haven’t been to an Unleash party yet, we strongly suggest you try one out; you’re bound to become a regular after only one shot. Over the past couple of years, Unleash brought along artists such as Solomun, Noze, Martin Buttrich among countless others. They also teamed up with Berlin’s famous club Katerholzig. From choosing the best roof top venues, organising amazing loft and boat parties, or their famous afters on the top floors of Centre Point, Unleash have indeed raised the bar for London promoters. We suggest you listen to residents Daylomar, Nils and Bella Sarris for an idea of the quality of their parties.
Unleash chose a great venue once again—Studio 338—with everything you can wish for, from amazing line ups, to an outdoor terrace with a retractable roof and a license that tonight lasted until 4 in the morning. It was a day and night filled with great music and DJs influenced by a variety of genres and artists.
We started the day quite relaxed, sipping our Pimms and listening to Maayan Nidam’s chilled beats. The Israeli DJ, now based in Berlin has been around for quite some time, playing for various other promoters around the world such as one of our all time favourites, Wolf + Lamb, from New York. With funk and groovy influences, Maayan played the perfect set for a sunny afternoon. Miss Kittin was up next with the sunset, getting us ready for the legendary Guy Gerber. The French DJ started her own label, Nobody’s Bizzness a while back and released numerous albums, collaborating with names such as Aphex Twin and Modeselektor. She’s impressive and unique, singing as well as mixing live.
The night was the debut showcase for the Rumors label, started in March 2014 by Guy Gerber. Guy Gerber, along with Maayan Nidam, arefrom Tel Aviv, proving the high reputation of the Israeli underground scene. Check out the label’s first release by Gerber and Dixon—No Distance—for some quality tech house. The latest Rumors release is Night Drive from Lake People, perfect for these summer months.
Studio 338 will be hosting some of the most memorable events of the season. We’ll be seeing amazing line ups from Sankeys, Art of Dark, Cocoon, Secret Sundaze, Mixmag Live and many more- click here for more info. Don’t forget Unleash either; they’ve filled up the summer with 4 more parties, collaborating with labels as Flying Circus and Poker Flat Recordings, attracting big names as Audiofly and Blond:ish.
